Until 1989, Eli Vranesic had relied on traditional methods of art expression (oil, acrylic and other media). At that time he also began to paint using computers. A computer equipped with a program for painting, a pressure-sensitive stylus (brush) and a tablet enables the artist to create a painting. For the purpose of showing, the image created on the screen is transferred onto canvas or paper by the giclee method and authenticated. The original painting is stored as computer data, which will not degrade or lose its quality with the passage of time. Eli Ilija Vranesic grew up in Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and continued studies with prof. Ljubo Babic. He moved to Canada, settled in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto, majoring in Art and Archaeology. He also worked as the Art Director for W.R.Grace, Cryovac Division in Canada. From 1978-1990, he taught Studio Methods and Principles of Printing Technologies for artists at the Humber College of Applied Arts and Technologies in Toronto. His works of art can be found in many collections.
